Todd Woodard is a facilitator, theatre arts educator and performer who creatively partners with learners of all ages. His work with EmcArts includes serving on the design and facilitation team of the New Pathways programs, supporting Arts and Service organization members along their innovative journeys in New York City, Santa Clara County, CA, and Calgary and Edmonton, Canada. He has also designed and facilitated workshops with arts leaders from across the country at the National Innovation Summit for Arts & Culture.
As a Teaching Artist with over 15 years experience, Todd currently serves students, teachers and parents throughout the New York City area through numerous impactful arts organizations including Lincoln Center Theater, Metropolitan Opera Guild, Brooklyn Academy of Music, DreamYard Project (the Bronx’s largest arts education provider), and the Center for Arts Education. He engages public school students in theatre creation and performance, arts learning, and arts-integrated literacy and academic skill-building. He also utilizes drama techniques and Theatre of the Oppressed models and activities to promote community and team-building, and to enhance social-emotional skills. He specializes passionately in devising original works of dramatic and musical theatre and opera with young writers and performers to help empower their unique artistic and social voices.
As an actor, Todd trained with Atlantic Theater Company and with Terry Schreiber. He has performed extensively in New York, at Russia’s Moscow Art Theatre, and in film, television and Theatre for Young Audiences. Todd holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Theatre from the City College of New York, and continues to identify as a lifelong learner himself.
