Jacinta V. White is the founder of The Word Project – an organization that uses art to facilitate self-discovery and community healing – which she launched nearly 20 years ago in Atlanta. Now, making her home in Winston-Salem, NC, Jacinta continues to facilitate groups using art as a catalyst.
Snapdragon: A Journal of Art & Healing, which covers poetry, creative nonfiction, and photography from those across the globe, is a publication of The Word Project. Jacinta serves as its Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, and is also recognized as an award-winning poet. Her newest collection is due Fall 2019.
Able to merge creativity into corporate training and group facilitation, Jacinta is sought after to build community and does so by listening, responding, and creating space for participants to safely share, learn, and enjoy the process.
She holds a BA in Speech Communications from UNC at Greensboro; a MPA in Nonprofit Management from Georgia State University; and several certifications in facilitation and training, including Understanding Diversity and Inclusion from Purdue University.
